Microsoft Azure Systems Administrators (2 Positions)

EITI is looking for (2) Microsoft Azure Systems Administrators to join its technical development team.

 

Responsibilities:

 

The Azure System Administrator is responsible for all aspects of the management, maintenance and on-going development of Azure environments under his/her jurisdiction.

 

Main Duties:

 

​Manage the Azure environments (Development, Testing and Production) under your jurisdiction.

Monitor performance on all environments (CPU, disk space, etc.) to ensure smooth running of all

environments.

Limit downtime on all environments.

Advise on, and implement, different environments for different requirements, including (but not

limited to):

  • Different setups for development, testing and production environments.

  • Very intensive data processing environments.

  • Environments that require high guaranteed uptime.

  • Environments that can automatically scale depending upon processing requirements.

  • Environments with and without external OLAP access.

  • Light data processing environments.

  • Small one-off projects.

  • Research and development projects.

  • Physical versus cloud-based SQL databases.

  • Scalable solutions.

  • All aspects of cloud security.

Manage firewalls, VPNs, and remote access to servers, based on different user roles and access

requirements.

Manage cloud-based FTP and other forms of file sharing.

Backups, restorations and disaster recovery.

Research into, and implementation of, new Azure tools to improve efficiency, performance, and cost effectiveness.

Monitor and report to management on actual and projected monthly costs.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

 

At least three years working as an Azure system administrator.

Experience working with Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing on Azure.

Experience implementing Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS on Azure.

Experience migrating web-based database applications from physical servers and VMs to Azure.

Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Microsoft training and certification.

 

Academic qualifications:

At minimum a Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.

  

Experience:

At least three (3) years’ experiences as a Microsoft Azure Systems Administrator.
